SPS Ties for 2nd Overall at Mayor’s Cup!

On a beautiful Saturday with amazing August temperatures at Belmont Plateau, the South Philly Striders competed in Mayor’s Cup, the annual competition between the city’s run clubs. In the return to a live Mayor’s Cup after a two-year hiatus, SPS tied for second place overall in the thirty-seven team field.

It was the highest placing ever for SPS, which finished 3rd in the inaugural Mayor’s Cup in 2015. Everyone did well, with particularly fantastic performances from Sarah Morrison (2nd in 5K), Cat McAuley (2nd in 10K), Brett Milden (1st in 5 mile), and Kyle Milden (2nd in 10K). Congrats to our squad and to all the other teams!
